Description

Description

The used Fluke 8012A is a portable bench-type digital multimeter with a 3½ digit liquid crystal display.

  • Voltage measurements from 100 µV to 1000 Vdc and 10 mV to 750 Vac (TRMS)
    • DC volts: Range ±200 mV, ±2 V, ±20 V, ±200 V, ±1000 V; accuracy ±(0.1% of reading + 1 digit); input impedance 10 MΩ; normal mode rejection ratio >60 dB at 60 Hz (50 Hz with 50 Hz option); common mode rejection ratio >90 dB at dc, 50 Hz, 60 Hz
    • AC volts: Range 200 mV, 2 V, 20 V, 200 V, 750 V; Volts · Hz product 107 max (200 V max at 50 kHz); extended frequency response typically ±3 dB at 200 kHz; common mode noise rejection >60 dB at 50 Hz and 60 Hz; crest factor range 1.0 to 3.0; input impedance 10 MΩ in parallel with <100 pF
  • Current measurements from 100 nA to 2 Adc and 10 µA to 2 Aac (TRMS)
    • DC current: Range 200 µA, 2 mA, 20 mA, 200 mA, 2000 mA; accuracy ±(0.3% of reading + 1 digit)
    • AC current: Range 200 µA, 2 mA, 20 mA, 200 mA, 2000 mA; crest factor range 1.0 to 3.0
  • Resistance measurements from 1 mΩ to 20 MΩ
    • Range: 200 Ω, 2 kΩ, 20 kΩ, 200 kΩ, 2000 kΩ, 20 MΩ; resolution: 0.1 Ω to 10 kΩ; open circuit voltage: <3.5 V
    • Low resistance range: 2 Ω (LO Ohms), 20 Ω (LO Ohms); resolution: 1 mΩ, 10 mΩ; open circuit voltage: 16 V maximum
  • Resistance ranges that supply enough voltage to turn on a PN junction for testing diodes and transistors – Diode test: 2 kΩ, 200 kΩ, 20 MΩ: These three ranges have enough voltage to turn on silicon junctions to check for proper forward-to-back resistance. The 2 kΩ range is preferred and is marked with a larger diode symbol on the front panel. The three non-diode test ranges will not turn on silicon junctions, so in-circuit resistance measurements can be made with these three ranges
  • Conductance measurements up to 10000 MΩ of equivalent resistance: Range 2 mS, 20 µS, 200 nS
  • Automatic polarity indication and overrange indication
  • Protection from overloads and transients up to 6 kV for 10 microseconds
  • Dual-slope integration a/d conversion to ensure noise-free measurements
